About the Roses....
As
a soloist, orchestral and chamber musician, Aisling
Ennis has performed
all over Ireland, UK, Europe, USA and Asia. Born in Rathcoole, Co.
Dublin, Aisling began the harp at the early age of six. Her early performing
career includes numerous awards at a national level, including the
Feis Ceoil Rose Bowl on three occasions and continuous scholarship
at the Royal Irish Academy of Music for 10 years. A Graduate of the
Royal Irish Academy of Music and former student of the Royal Academy
of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, she is
one of Ireland's foremost concert harpists. Aisling has just completed
a Masters degree in Cultural Policy and Arts Management in UCD.
Aisling’s orchestral career began at an early age with the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland, with whom she was principal harpist for over nine years. Aisling now performs regularly with Ireland’s leading professional orchestras including the RTE National Symphony Orchestra, the RTE Concert Orchestra and the Orchestra of the National Concert Hall. With a musical palette ranging from classical music to jazz and traditional Irish music, Aisling's concert performances are extensive and varied, ranging from solo concerto performances in the National Concert Hall to performances in China and Hungary at the invitation of Foreign Affairs and appearances in concert with rap artist Kanye West during his recent world tour.
Emer
Barry has a degree in Music and Italian from University College
Dublin. In 2005, she graduated with honours from the DIT Conservatory
of Music and Drama in a Masters in Music Performance, where she studied
under renowned Irish soprano Regina Nathan. Emer is a multiple first
prizewinner at music festivals all over Ireland including the Feis
Ceoil in Dublin, Sligo Feis Ceoil and Arklow, Kilcoole and Ballymena
Music Festivals. In 2004 she received the Stevenson award for Overall
Vocal Championship at Ballymena Music Festival and is the most recent
recipient of the RTE Lyric fm bursary for most outstanding singer at
the Sligo Feis Ceoil, 2007. She was also awarded the John Mc
Cormack and Oliver O’Brien bursaries from the John Mc Cormack
Society of Ireland in 2002 and 2007 respectively.
Emer has participated in masterclasses with some of opera’s most prestigious teachers and performers including Susan McCulloch, Ugo Benelli, Robin Bowman, Sarah Walker and Graham Johnson. In 2004, she was chosen to participate in the international opera programme Operaplus in Belgium where she performed the roles of First Lady (Die Zauberflote – Mozart) and Lisetta (La Rondine – Puccini). Other operatic roles include Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Tebaldo (Don Carlo - Verdi) and Fulvia (La Pietra del Paragone – Rossini). Emer has also performed with Opera Ireland in their productions of Mozarts Die Zauberflote and Glucks Orfeo ed Euridice which toured in Germany.
Mary
McCague is highly respected in musical circles as a pianist, violinist and organist and holds a First Class Honours Masters in Music Performance from the Royal Irish Academy of Music. A former student of international pianist Dr. John O' Conor and legendary violin teacher, Rev. Brendan McNally, Mary has performed at many music festivals throughout Ireland and Europe and has won numerous prestigious awards.
Mary has performed as a soloist, chamber musician and piano accompanist in all the major venues in Ireland, including the National Concert Hall, the Helix and Cork City Hall, and has worked on a freelance basis with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra and the Irish Chamber Orchestra. Mary is also in demand as a musical director and works with choirs and musical societies throughout the country.
Mary regularly appears on 'The Late Late Show' where she has performed with Michael Bublé, Westlife, Leona Lewis, Rod Stewart, Phil Coulter, Katherine Jenkins, Il Divo and numerous other top acts. She also performed as a soloist on RTÉ's 'The View.' In addition, Mary has played at the Meteor Awards with various artists and performed on stage at the Point Theatre with Kanye West.
